Class 3G will become Class 4R (Mr Ricketts)

Four teachers are moving year groups for September. They are looking forward to teaching different age groups and new topics very much, and have been busy preparing for theirs moves for some time.

General information/Dates for Diaries

Goodbyes
To all the pupils who are leaving Crawley Ridge at the end of this Summer Term we all wish you continued happiness and every success for the future.  I would also like to add my personal best wishes to the current Year 6 children as they move on to their new secondary schools.  We will miss them very much, but know that they are leaving us with so many wonderful memories and we are more than confident that they will continue to do us proud.

School Dinners
School dinners must be paid for in the first week of term, for the half term in advance, or on a weekly basis if preferred.  The cost of school dinners for the first half of the autumn term will be £70.00

You may pay by cheque (made payable to Surrey County Council please) or you may pay on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk.  Please remember to give the office one week’s notice in writing to inform us of any changes e.g. school dinner to packed lunch or vice-versa.  This is important, as without written confirmation of your request to change, your child will remain on the lunch register, and you may continue to be charged for school dinners until written notification is received.

Dates for the beginning of academic year 2010– 2011:
Thursday 2nd September and Friday 3rd September are In-Service days set aside for teacher training which this year (for your interest) includes curriculum review, School Development Plan meetings, Phonics training, policy updates, assessment and team meetings – extremely busy days. The children’s first day back at school is Monday 6th September.

Please note that on Monday 6th September, Year 3 children will start at 10:00 am (first day only) and the other year groups will start at the normal time of 08:40.  Please remind your child to bring all the items on their equipment list, and also to remember their PE kits.

Please find attached the updated calendar for next academic year.  The Inset Days have been set and appear at the top of the page.  Please note that the July Inset Day has had to change and is now Friday 15th July 2011.  Please amend your diaries and accept our apologies if this affects your planning in any way.

‘Party in the Park IV’ – a very important date for your diary Saturday 9th July 2011.

Thank you
CRJSP
Many of the projects we have undertaken over the last year have been funded through our incredible and highly committed PTA.  Without the dedicated hard work of the whole team, we would not have been able to enjoy May madness, school discos, refreshments at open day and sports days, the circus at school, and all the other events that the PTA arrange and support, to enable you to come into school and support us with your time, your money, your families and for some of you, some hard physical labour!  Your support of the PTA has assisted us this year in creating a pleasant waiting area for parents and children at the start and end of the school day; a new kiln where all the clays your children work so hard to produce are fired; and an interactive Smartboard in the Music room to enrich all the children’s enjoyment and musical learning.  We cannot thank enough the current PTA chair and her team for their continued support of the school and parents, and wish them luck in their future endeavours if they are stepping down from their major roles in the autumn.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Miss Laura Smart on completing her NQT year.  She has completed her first year as a teacher successfully (with flying colours) and this is a chance to recognise her hard work and say ‘well done’ from all at CRJS.

Final words

A huge thank you to the team, the parents and the children for your hard work and support over a busy and exciting year.  I wish you all a very good and well-deserved summer break.

Yours sincerely

Maria Martin
