2. It is an opportunity for parents to get even closer engagement with the school and teachers.
3. To raise funds in a number of areas that add real value to school life, that would not otherwise be possible.
4. Increasingly we partner in the larger events with Crawley Ridge Infant PTA, helping the two schools forge ever closer bonds.
We had a fabulous fundraising year last year, raising £7,641, which completely smashed our target of £6,000.
Thank you to all those parents who helped to run an event and to those who have been readily available to help out. I hope your children have thoroughly enjoyed the events as much as we have in putting them on.
A decision to split the funds raised was made at the PTA meetings and it was decided to spend half the money on a Climbing Wall. Hopefully lots of you will have now seen the climbing wall, which is a great addition to the astro-turf area, and is being enjoyed by the whole school. The wall will be great for the children’s fitness, with 3 different levels of ability and also for them to have great fun on.
This school year our target is to raise £7,500.
The other half of the monies raised last year, plus the majority of this year's fund raising, will be going towards the refurbishment of the upper school.
The funds will contribute towards lockers, versatile furniture and outdoor storage for wellies. Money is also going towards the PE Department. We have already replaced their storage shed with a new one and hopefully we will be replacing the kit for the football and netball teams plus other essential equipment.
