My name is Laura Hughes and I have served as a co-opted governor since March 2017. I have a son at Crawley Ridge Junior School, my older son having moved to secondary school in September 2019.
Having qualified as a solicitor with the law firm Clifford Chance, I have worked for an American bank for 16 years, specialising in Corporate Trusts.
During my free time I volunteer with one of the children's groups at a local church and enjoy choral singing.
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to participate in life at Crawley Ridge Junior School as a school governor. In participating in the activities of the governing body I seek to utilise the skills that I have developed in my working life in business and the law in working with the other governors to monitor, support and challenge the strategic development of the school.
As a governor and as a parent it is good to see the positive progress at Crawley Ridge Junior School arising from the commitment and passion of the staff and the benefits arising from membership of the TAMAT academy.
